Lida sees your screen and circles the next thing to click. Ask why and she explains it. Ask her to do it and she does it while you watch.
In private preview on Windows. Start a session and talk.
“How do I export this report?”
“Click Export, top right. I’ll wait.”
“Now choose PDF.”
“Done. Your report is exported.”
Ask how to make the text on your screen bigger, and Lida rings the setting and says what to pick.
Ask the way you would ask a colleague, or hold Right Ctrl if you set a talk key. Lida answers in one line and circles the control. You click it, and she moves the ring on to the next step.
Open View, then Freeze Panes. I've circled it.
How it works
The same three things happen every time you ask Lida for help, so you always know what it is doing and why.
During a session Lida reads what is on your screen: which app, which window, which controls. It works from the names of the controls first, and uses the picture of the screen for what the names do not say.
It tells you where you are and what the next step is, in one short spoken line, with the step written on screen. It checks what it can see before it points, and only points at controls it can name. When it can only guess, it says so and asks.
Then it helps in the way you asked for. It rings the control and waits for you, draws the idea on a board beside your work, or carries out the step itself.
Three modes
Lida asks which you want for each task, or you say it yourself: “show me how”, “teach me”, “you do it”. You can switch part-way through by voice and she picks up from where you are.
Shows you where
Lida's cursor moves to the exact control, a ring lands on it, and Lida gives one short instruction. It waits until you have done it, checks, then moves to the next step.
You say“Show me how.”
Explains the idea
Lida draws the idea on a board beside your work as she explains it, narrated and captioned, in short chapters. Say you do not follow and it explains again a different way.
You say“Teach me this.”
Does it for you
Lida clicks and types while you watch. Before a risky step, such as submitting or sending, it stops and asks. Touch the mouse or keyboard and it pauses.
You say“You do it.”
Privacy and control
Lida works on your screen, so the rules are short and you can check every one of them.
Lida is in private preview on Windows. Ask for access and we will email you when your invite is ready.
